Hi my name is Chanel Schonert and I am the founder and bookkeeper for Beacon Ledger Bookkeeping in Camas Washington. For those who don’t know, it’s just over the bridge from Portland Oregon. Thanks to online technology however, I get to work with business all over the country, not just those in the Pacific Northwest!

My background includes human resources, banking, and managing the financial operations of a multi-state business in the Pacific Northwest for over 10 years. After COVID, I decided to focus on what I have truly enjoyed throughout my career: working with people and businesses and helping take some of the financial stress off their shoulders. I love that I can help in an area that is not usually someone’s favorite task to manage.

Working alongside businesses in industries where job costing, payroll, and tax compliance are essential is a real passion of mine. Coming from a family with deep roots in construction has also given me a practical understanding of the unique financial challenges contractors face. Over the past four years, I've also worked closely with real estate professionals, helping agents stay organized, streamline their operations, and build more profitable businesses.

I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. I am blessed to live here with my amazing husband, our two crazy and fun kids and our pups. We have a small farm where my kids are fortunate to be apart of 4-H and Grange and to raise dairy goats and livestock for the Jr. Livestock Auction each year. Being outdoors and camping is one of our favorite things about living in the PNW.
